About Us
Colonial Healthcare, with medical offices in Sumter, Columbia, and Camden, South Carolina, was founded in 2004 by local physicians as Colonial Family Practice. Their goal was to “Improve the Quality of Your Life” through continuous, quality care from childhood through adulthood. This meant incorporating new, innovative ideas and advances in medicine while keeping a foundation in family values and caring provider relationships. The practice also adopted the motto "We Will See You Today!" to benefit patients who suddenly become ill, or need to see a physician that day with out an appointment.
Today, our physicians specialize in family medicine, pediatrics, neurology, and urgent care with additional services offered for weight loss, diagnostic testing, and allergy.
Colonial Healthcare is one of the area’s largest primary and preventive care provider with over 23 physicians, and nurse practitioners practicing at eight locations within Sumter, Columbia, and Camden. We offer faster consultations, prognoses, and treatment of disease, all with a friendly and genuine concern for you the patient.

Insurance/Payment Information
Colonial Healthcare participates with most insurance plans. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance company to verify that we participate with your plan. As a courtesy to you, Colonial Healthcare will file claims to your primary and secondary insurance plans. Once your insurance plan has paid its contracted amount, you are required to pay the remaining balance. A bill from Colonial Healthcare will be sent to your address for this remaining balance and payment is due within 30 days of receipt. It is your responsibility to inform Colonial Healthcare in a timely manner of any changes to your billing and insurance information, and we request your assistance in following up with your insurance company to resolve any non-payment issues. If an insurance company denies payment for incomplete or wrong information, you must provide us with the correct information or it is your responsibility to make payment in full.
Co-pays are due at the time of the visit and self-pay patients are required to pay for services in full prior to leaving. Also, a valid driver’s license and insurance card must be presented at every visit.
